The purpose of this section is to introduce both Learnish and myself. I have always had an interest in both the Spanish language and the Spanish culture ever since I was a child. Whenever I went on holiday to a Spanish speaking country, even as a child I always tried to interact with the local people (in very broken Spanish) by attempting to order food, drinks, ask where things are and say yes, no, please and thank-you.

I studied Spanish at school and sure, I enjoyed it, however, I didn’t have the roaring motivation or the level of interest to really take it seriously. Towards the end of 2016, I started talking to Spanish people, made Spanish friends, enjoyed listening to Spanish music and actually began to enjoy learning Spanish. I knew that I didn’t have to learn Spanish, instead, I knew that I wanted to. If you’re starting to learn Spanish or if you’re contemplating it, make sure you’re doing it because you want to and not just because you have to or need to or because you’re just simply bored.

The idea behind me creating Learnish is to enable people to be able to actively learn a language, in a country where it’s not spoken and not feel alone. We want to connect learners together and provide as much advice and knowledge as possible.
